The Rundown: The Storyteller warns of the dangers of seeking personal glory at the expense of what’s truly important.

The storytellers trusted friend has a gift for him. One that he thinks will allow him to get fame and fortune for his tales. As the pair sit down, the storyteller decides to tell his friend another tale to hopefully explain why fame and fortune would be a bad idea for him.

The story he tells is off a family of powerful siblings who are in mourning for the death of their mother. Unfortunately, while the sibling’s father sought his own longevity and fame, he failed to see the danger close to him. A danger who has his sights on the children. After taking the children on a trip, he transforms them with a curse that only by them working together can it be broken.

The Story: Frattino crafts a fun, entertaining and engaging story in this issue. There are some great character moments as well as a great moral lesson to be found within the plot. I like the characters a lot and the wonderful tone that the story conveys. The simplicity of the story is wonderful because it allows for the reader to learn the message and empathize with the characters.

The Art: Retherford delivers some fantastic visuals throughout every page. The art style is beautiful and filled with great imagery.
