The Rundown: Ernie and his team of Reprobates fight to save his twisted version of the world.

Ernie quickly comes to the realization that gathering a group of the most twisted people he could find is not going to end well for him or them. When his elite team of Reprobates quickly succumbs to the forces against them, Ernie is alone in his fight to save the debauched new world. In the aftermath, Ernie is alone and Mary tries to comfort him. When he rejects her words, he finds himself betrayed again and a version of him that he truly despises emerges to undo the damage that he’s done.

With the world seemingly saved, the crew returns to Earth and Ernie’s conversation with Mary leads the Scumbag to take her on an interesting trip to meet some interesting people, Ernie’s parents. In the wake of another revelation about Agent Scumbag, Mary is given a choice about what to do about him next.

The Story: Remender continues to craft an entertaining, timely and hilarious story in this issue. The social commentary continues to be spot on and is the perfect fodder for Remender’s humor. The story is delightfully crude and the characters are engaging despite their many flaws. I continue to be impressed with the thematic and narrative risks being taken in this series and this issue keeps the momentum going with style, humor and surprises.

The Art: Bergara delivers some stunning visuals throughout this issue. The characters and action all have a sense of originality in the imagery.
