The Rundown: The team goes after the clone of Reed Richards as it tries to transform the world.
Bucky and the rest of the team struggle to work together as they track the clone of Reed Richards calling himself Mr. Ouroboros to New Mexico. After making their way to his location, they discover he is using a modified version of the fantastic car to turn the local population into twisted version of the Fantastic Four by bombarding them with cosmic rays.
After finding the clone’s location, the team moves in to stop him, but they are going to need some big brains in the form of Bruce Banner. Unfortunately, that means bringing the Hulk along and he is not in the mood to work well with others. As they look for a way to stop their enemy, they discover that the clone’s plans go beyond New Mexico as he plans to transform the entire planet.
The Story: Humphries creates some great character moments and thrilling action in this issue. Unfortunately, the confrontation with Ouroboros has been teased so much in the first few issues that the execution felt a little disappointing. I was expecting more from this character and the buildup to their encounter. The dialogue is a little too quippy, but the story is solid enough. I did like the reveal at the end of the issue and what it means for Bucky and Natasha going forward.
The Art: Palma embraces the tone of the story with the art in this issue. I loved a lot of the visual moments, but some felt like they were missing things. The imagery was good, but nothing really stood out.
