The Rundown: Mary Jane might be the key to ending the threat of Kindred and Sin Eater will learn some hard truth.

The long history between Mary Jane, Peter Parker and Harry Osborn might be exactly what Norman Osborn needs to reach his son. After bringing Mary Jane to the locaiton Kindred is holding Spider-Man, he explains to her that she might be the only one to talk his wayward son down. A task that will require her to put her life at risk as Harry tortures Peter mentally and physically.

At the same time, the rest of Peter’s allies make their way to the same location and are confronted by Sin Eater. To make matters worse, Sin Eater has absorbed the powers of one of their toughest foes and will not easily be taken down. One of them will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to give the others a chance and to show Sin Eater what the wages of his sin truly are with a look at the brutal truth that has been hidden from him.

The Story: Spencer and Rosenberg do some great work with the plotting and dialogue in this issue. Not only are there some great character moments and palpable tension throughout, but the confrontation between Mary Jane and Norman is some of the best dialogue I’ve read regarding these characters. MJ really nails the essence of who and what Norman really is and that is evident in an awesome twist at the end of the issue. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Vicentini and Miyazawa do some great work with the art in this issue. The styles of the art blend together well and there are some great visual moments throughout. A really great looking issue.
