The Rundown: A young woman searching for her family discovers something dark and powerful operating behind the scenes.

Marylin is desperate to find out any information about her missing older sister. After looking up information on the dark web, she is met by a contact who has something to show her. Unfortunately, he is murdered in front of her by someone with extraordinary and dangerous powers. She is rescued by her sister who decides to bring her with her to show her a new and fascinating world.

Marylin is taken to an island paradise where her sister and the other members of their covert team live and operate. After being introduced to the power that helped unlock their powers, she submits to its power. Unfortunately, something goes wrong and a dark truth is revealed.

The Story: Kirkman and Casey craft a dark, thrilling and entertaining story in this first issue. I am already invested in the world of this story and the writers do something amazing with the focus of this issue and how they subverted my expectations about what was going to happen in the story as well as what it reveals about these characters. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Kubert delivers visually stunning and exciting art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how beautifully detailed every page and panel are.
