The Rundown: The Man of Steel will have to make some hard choices as he gets closer to finding the missing girl.

In Part 9 of the story, If Not An Angel, Superman makes a dark bargain with Darkseid for the location of the missing girl Alice. In exchange for the information, Superman must find an alien being ravaged by a disease of the body and mind. If Kal El wants to save a little girl from harm, he will have to break his most sacred rule to do so.

In Part 10, The Offer, Superman awakens at home with his wife. He goes through his day with confidence with a voice in his head telling him to enjoy every individual moment. The reason why will test the man of steel in ways he couldn’t imagine when he is made a tempting offer.

The Story: Both stories do an excellent job of showing the determination and drive of Superman. His quest is pushing him to the limit and King is showcasing the consequences to Clark as he pushes further and deeper into unknown territory. There are great moments throughout, but I want to see the story come to a head. 5 issues and 10 parts later, I still feel like the story is in the wind up phase. I want Tom King to let it get going so I can see where it goes next and how it will ultimately end.

The Art: Andy Kubert’s art is amazing as always. He showcases the power of Superman throughout the issue and everything from the characters to the backgrounds are filled with beautiful details.
