The Rundown: Four stories showcase the man of steel and his struggles as a person and a hero.

Priceless

Superman goes on a mission to a dangerous planet to retrieve the only thing that can help his family. As he traverses the surface, he makes his way below to discover the creature holding what he needs, but the intervention of Kara and Krypto make the mission harder especially when he realizes she escaped custody to help him.

Dini and Andolfo craft a fun, light and entertaining story that emphasizes the importance of family to both Superman and Supergirl. There are some fun and funny moments throughout and I love Andolfo’s art style for both the action and comedic moments.

All The Time in the World

Superman deals with the all-too human problem of being stretched thin. After waking up to a crying child, Superman and Lois begin their day, but his becomes more difficult as he tries to balance being a hero, a husband and a reporter. Spreading himself thin trying to help, he knows he can’t be everywhere, but his determination to try never ceases.

An entertaining, humanizing story for the character filled with great insight and heart alongside wonderfully immersive art.

Out of the Ordinary

A local reporter gets an exclusive interview with the man of steel. Ellie Hollins is a local reporter in a small town in Canada that finds itself invaded by giant robots and rescued by Superman. Taking initiative, she talks to him and he agrees to sit down at a local diner to talk to her where he reveals things about himself as well as who and what he really is.

Abnett crafts a great story that confirms some things I always believed about Superman. I really enjoyed that the story takes the time to show the humanity of the character as well as showing his impact on others. Yarsky delivers some beautiful art throughout the story as well. I love the character designs a lot.

Red-Letter Days

Clark and Lois are at work when a call comes in from Batman and Superman races off to help, but the couple’s anniversary is coming up and being together for it might be difficult. As the two deal with their jobs, Superman returns to the office and the pair find something that brings them together doing something they love.

I absolutely love this story from Rowell. It literally brought a smile to my face as Lois and Clark come together and connect on something that defines them personally and professionally. It’s a brilliantly sweet story mixed with beautiful art from Tormey.
