The Rundown: Superman fights not only a new version of Parasite, but also the nagging voice of Lex Luthor trying to help him.

Superman finds himself being drained by a small army of Parasites and has to fight to escape. As the Parasites drain power from the city, Superman keeps getting messages from Lex Luthor telling him that he can help. Superman heads to the former LexCorp building in order to rescue the employees and get answers. At the same time, a group of mad scientists plot from the shadows.

After conferring with his family in their plans to hold back the growing army of Parasites, Superman heads to the Daily Planet to find Lois and discovers a mysterious woman in the office who escapes. He soon discovers the something has happened to Lois and the others. Something that will change the nature of Superman’s fight.

The Story: A thrilling and entertaining follow up issue from Williamson. The arc has created not only some interesting foils for the man of steel as well as giving a new and intriguing dimension to the dynamic between Superman and Lex Luthor. I liked the introduction of new characters and am interested in how they will change the landscape of Metropolis and Superman’s mission. There are some interesting and engaging twists in this issue and I look forward to seeing where they go.

The Art: Campbell delivers some beautifully detailed and thrilling art throughout the issue. The action is fantastic and the character designs are amazing.
