The Rundown: Waller forces members of the Suicide Squad to engage in battle with enemies on Earth-8, while Peacemaker attempts to recruit Bloodsport for an assignment.

Ambush Bug humorously recaps previous events. Then, Bloodsport is reintroduced as he and Peacemaker have an interesting conversation regarding their current, and most recent activities. Meanwhile, Waller sends her available Suicide Squad team to Earth-8 on an unusual mission. While there, the group finds themselves in mortal danger and must decide how to proceed. Finally, a team of expected allies enact their plan to attack Waller’s compound.

The Story: Suspense is at the forefront of this compelling and adventure filled narrative. In the intro, Action Bug once again breaks the fourth wall to give the reader his limited omniscient perspective and at time competes with Bloodsport for narrative content. And, I am impressed with Sharpe’s lettering ability, as he makes it easy to distinguish the two voices in a way that does not take away from the art.

This is a complex story with a lot of moving pieces, yet it is presented in a manner that is easy to follow. Now, it appears that many of those pieces are coming together. I am curious to find out how much of Waller’s plans have incorporated contingencies for the many rogue actions taking place.

The Art: This issue contains well crafted and visually stunning artwork. The panels are engaging, with both fore and background drawings being highlighted by extreme detail and a varying color palate.
