The Rundown: The students are still missing and the teachers will use every mystical way they can to find them.
Illyana and Zelma look for a new way to track their missing students and that way will require the help of some strange creatures. At the same time, the academy grounds continue to be monitored for any sign of the missing kids. Voodoo and the other teachers search as well but are surprised by the return of one of the students looking for help. At the same time, the missing students continue to fight the Hollow in order to rescue Calvin.
As the students quickly realize that they are not powerful enough to stop the Hollow on their own, they decide to retreat. Unfortunately, they won’t get very far and Zoe will have to reveal what she really is in order to tap into the power that might save them all. When the Hollow goes after Doyle, Emily steps in and pushes her powers to the limit to help her friend. Unfortunately, that might not be enough.
The Story: Skottie Young continues to craft a fun, entertaining and engaging story with this issue. Not only does the plot continue to impress, but Young raises the stakes in this issue with both the tone and the emphasis on characters. The action is great and Young does a great job of keeping the tension high right up until the dark and shocking cliffhanger.
The Art: Humberto Ramos is a master at action and that is evident in the energetic imagery used throughout this issue. The characters look fantastic and there are some beautiful details in every page. A great looking issue from start to finish.
