The Rundown: Trapped in fluidic space, Janeway and her crew fight for a way back home.

Voyager has been hijacked by Species 8472 and taken to fluidic space. While Janeway and her officers fight to take back the ship, they wonder why the species has not taken more aggressive action beyond doing everything to prevent Voyager from returning to the Alpha Quadrant. At the same time, Tuvok’s condition is getting worse and time is running out for a cure.

When the officers are confronted in engineering, Chakotay decides to surrender and they are taken by shuttle to meet with the Prime Hierarch. While Janeway meets mentally, her team works on getting the tech they need to escape until Janeway gives an unexpected order.

The Story: Susan Bridges and Tilly Bridges craft a thoughtful, engaging, action packed story in this issue. I love how the writers understand the world of Star Trek and the characters of Voyager specifically. This definitely feels like an episode of the series with the events happening immediately after the finale and I appreciate the progression of the action to a cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Hernandez creates some beautiful imagery throughout the issue. From the character designs to the action, everything works visually and the art enhances the story brilliantly.
