The Rundown: Vex and Keyleth learn more about each other as Vax attempts to escape from captivity.

The woman who has taken Vax is preparing a ritual for him as her golem goes to retrieve the prisoner and finds his cell empty. At the same time, Vex and Keyleth make their through the local woods and learn more about each other in the process as Vex makes her way to a local cave to retrieve her bear Trinket and the two go looking to rescue Vax.
After returning to the town, they reconnect with Tiberius and make their way to the docks where they discover Scanlan and Grog waiting. When an explosion frees Vax to return to the group, he makes a vow to stop the poisoning of the town one way or another.
The Story: I continue to love the pacing and tone of this story and how I become immersed in this adventure as a fan of these characters. There are some great moments that showcase how interesting Keyleth and Vex are as characters as well as an awesome sequence that highlights how awesome Vax is. The dialogue is fantastic and really digs into Vex’s motivations and fears. I also love how the group comes together towards the end of the issue and what it means going forward.
The Art: Samson delivers some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the character designs a lot. There is a wonderful anime feel to the visuals that I continue to enjoy.
