One of the most tragic aspects of the final days of comic book legend Stan Lee was the knowledge that there were those around the icon who were possibly using him for their own financial ends.

Stan Lee’s former business partner Keya Morgan was arrested in Arizona this weekend for a range of charges including stealing over $262,000 dollars from Lee from his autograph sessions. He’s also being accused of false imprisonment after removing Lee from his home to a secured condo controlled by Morgan. There are also elder abuse charges being discussed according to reports.

The LAPD released a statement saying: “This morning, Scottsdale and Phoenix Police Department in collaboration with LAPD Commercial Crimes Detectives arrested Keya Morgan on an outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office,” read an LAPD statement to E! News. “Morgan will go before a judge and eventually extradited to Los Angeles to face charges.”

“It had been revealed that no one had clear legal authority to act on Mr. Lee’s behalf; yet, Morgan exerted his control and influence over Lee,” according to the LAPD.

Morgan’s attorney released a statement which said; “He has never abused or taken advantage of Mr. Lee in any way. We expect him to be completely exonerated of all charges.”
