The Rundown: Erica Slaughter attempts to get more help as a monster finds its next victims and Cutter prepares to hunt her.

A new family finds itself at the mercy of the monster that murdered Gabi’s. At the same time, Gabi decides to return home. A move that will bring her face to face with her trauma and the loss she is trying to hide. Erica tries to enlist help from the woman watching over Gabi and finds that her dwindling resources have made her job harder.

As she tries to enlist help by finally telling the truth about the what the town is facing, the House of Slaughter briefs their foreign hunter on her target. A briefing that could expose what little help Erica is continuing to receive.

The Story: James Tynion IV crafts a tense and entertaining story that not only sets up more danger from a new and intriguing predator, but also the limitations Erica faces in her life away of the Order. The story has some great character moments throughout and I love the buildup of the confrontation between Erica and the woman hunting her.

The Art: Dell’edera delivers some great, subdued visuals throughout the issue. The tension in the beginning of the story is beautifully captured and continues throughout the issue making every moment visually interesting.
