The Rundown: With the monsters revealed and time running out, Erica will need to move fast to save the town.

The creatures slaughtering the children of the town have been revealed and even though many still can’t see them, they all witnessed what they can do. Trapped in the school gymnasium as the creatures move closer, Erica realizes that she doesn’t have much time left if she’s going to kill these creatures and save the town. In order to do that she’s going to need to keep everyone contained and find a way to escape with Jamie.

After giving the sheriff his orders, Erica and Jamie attempt to escape from the school and make it to the parking lot. Back at the order’s base, Cecilia has been tasked to end the threat once and for all and to bring back Erica alive. A task that will require some extreme measures.

The Story: Consistently well executed in its tension, James Tynion IV continues to make this story engaging to the reader. There is an immediacy to the plot that is delightful because it plays on the tension of the moment while also raising the stakes. I can’t wait to see where the story goes when the Order arrives and how Erica will deal with both the threat of the monsters hunting her as well as the organization she’s trying to protect people from.

The Art: Werther Dell’edera has some great visuals throughout this issue. There are a a lot of slow burn moments in the story that allow for the art to be more detailed and interesting. There is also some great imagery that pulls you in as a reader.
