Marvel Comics

Letters by Joe Sabino

Logan has been found and the X-Men are on their way to help him. That’s their first mistake.

Logan and Ana have made their way to Persephone’s city in search of the doctor’s missing son. The search is the primary mission, but Logan still wants answers and he’s determined to get them from the mystery woman.

Jean and the X-Men follow Logan’s signal to the island as well, but they are immediately set upon by the islands inhabitants both civilian and military. As the fight begins, Persephone watches with anticipation.

Jean and company take a big risk going to Persephone’s island after being told of the consequences to any children born with the mutant gene. There’s a part of me that would have liked there to have been more discussion before they disregarded those consequences.

When Logan decides to turn around and go in the direction of the fight, the voices in his head tell him a strategy to beat the X-Men one by one. When Logan decides to tap into one of the worst aspects of his personality, it might mean death for anyone in his way.

This was a well-paced and well written issue that was enjoyable as a fan of Wolverine as a character and of the methodical way he’s been brought back. Soule does some great work tapping into and showing Logan’s personality both as a killer and as a hero. It’s going to be interesting to see where this story goes next.

Declan Shalvey has some great, detailed art in this issue with the fight sequences being the highlight.
