The Rundown: Dom and Birdie discover something new about their cargo while Theresa finds herself being monitored by a familiar face.

Theresa finally emerges and receives a series of calls from her boss. When she finally gets in touch with them, she decides to lie in order to continue her investigation. In her boss’ office, a familiar face knows she isn’t telling them everything.

In the other world, Dom wakes from a nightmare to discover that Birdie tried to destroy the object and they are being attacked by the creatures that wander that world. As the two fight to escape, a mysterious new entity emerges.

The Story: Lemire ramps up the tension and terror in this issue and the story takes some dramatic and intriguing turns as Dom and Birdie clash while Theresa finds herself in the middle of a bigger mystery in the real world. The conflict between the characters is great and I love the fact that the mystery gets deeper with the introduction of a new and unknown character that seems out of place for this tale of seemingly grounded horror. Lemire does a great job of bringing this part of the story to a close that guarantees that I will be back for the next one.

The Art: Walta delivers some beautiful art in the issue. I love the visual style and the imagery brilliantly captures the tension and terror of the story.
