Oscar Isaac is about to join another war among the stars.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Star Wars star is in final negotiations to star in Denis Villenueve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi epic Dune.
Isaac is reportedly being cast as Duke Leto Atreides in the film. Duke Leto is the ruler of House Atreides and father to the film’s protagonist Paul Atreides. Isaac will join Timothee Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) as Paul and Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible: Fallout) as Paul’s mother Lady Jessica.
Also added to the all-star cast is Charlotte Rampling (Red Sparrow) as the Reverend Mother, Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the ‘Beast’ Rabban and Stellan Skarsgard (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) as Baron Harkonnen.
Oscar Isaac can next be seen opposite Ben Affleck in Triple Frontier and will return to his role as rebel pilot Poe Dameron in Star Wars Episode IX this December.
