South Park has always courted controversy and been upfront in targeting everyone with their political commentary. In their latest video game offering coming this year, that trend continues.
The next game from the creators of South Park is cleverly titled South Park: The Fractured But Whole. In the game, you create your own character. Unlike most other games, when you create your character in the new South Park game, the difficulty changes the darker your skin gets. The effect will alter how NPC’s react to you and how much money you can make.
The games resident troublemaker Eric Cartman tells the player in the game, “Don’t worry, this doesn’t affect combat. Just every other aspect of your whole life.” It’s also being reported that the game will also be altered based on character’s gender with the player getting to decide between male, female and other with the choices of cisgender and transgender being added after the player makes a decision.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be released on consoles October 17, 2017.
