Another video game adaptation is in development and Netflix is bringing in a director who has already tackled the subject on the big screen.

According to Deadline, Netflix is going to adapt the Ubisoft video game Beyond Good & Evil to the big screen. Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin are producing for Ubisoft Film & Television.

Based on the 2003 video game of the same name, Beyond Good & Evil tells the story of the mining planet of Hillys. The planet is under siege by an alien race known as the DomZ and the government of the planet is run by military dictatorship called the Alpha Sections. A young reporter named Jade begins investigating both the attacks and the government because the resistance group on the planet believes that the government is in league with the aliens.

While the streaming service is looking for writers to take on the project, Netflix has brought on a director for the upcoming adaptation. Rob Letterman has been tapped to helm the film. Letterman co-directed the animated film Monsters Vs Aliens as well as the first Goosbumps movie. He recently directed the hit film Detective Pikachu based on the popular Pokemon franchise and starring Ryan Reynolds. Detective Pikachu brought in over $400 million dollars worldwide.
