The Rundown: The group finds themselves in the clutches of the new leader of the game and its a ghost from Warren’s past.

Warren and Alice make their way to the home they believe the rest of the group has been taken to. As Warren remembers a moment from his past when he and Crane were playing their game with their friends in school and Warren became enamored of a young woman who exceeded in bringing drama to everything she did.

After the two are confronted by a group of new players, they are taken to the others who are dealing with the effects of being drugged. After coming out of it, they are visited by the new host of this new deadly game and she is someone from their collective past. Someone who Warren had an intense relationship with and who decided to not only keep the game going, but has a plan to expand it beyond the borders of the town.

The Story: I enjoyed the way Williamson dives into the backstory of Warren and how this new player makes herself known to the two of them. Her plan is also really interesting, but her motives still remain elusive. The story is good and the dialogue works really well for the characters. I enjoy the direction the story is taking and am interested in seeing where it goes next.

The Art: Henderson creates some evocative imagery in this issue. There are some great, brutal moments throughout the issue and the transitions from the present to the past are well executed.
