The Rundown: Playtime and the other villains attempt to track down Stickman before the heroes destroy the city looking for him.

With the death of the Insomniac’s sidekick by another villain, the heroes are tearing the city apart looking for the killer as well as assaulting any villain big or small they can find on the streets. Playtime and her small band of low level villains seek out Brain Tease to try to determine Stickman’s next move.

After ascertaining that Stickman will attempt to make a big show at an exclusive villain hangout club, the others travel through the dangerous city to get to him themselves. After finding a way into the club, they discover too late that Stickman had something darker and more dangerous planned for his fellow villains and the Insomniac will be the instrument.

The Story: Oswalt and Blum craft a wonderful, funny and brilliantly surprising story in this issue. The Brain Tease character is both funny and engaging. I like that the plot spends so much time fleshing him out as a character. The story has a wonderful pacing that leads to a shocking and brilliantly executed cliffhanger that not only surprised me, but impressed me.

The Art: Hepburn delivers some beautifully detailed art in the issue. The characters and the world of the story are wonderfully dark and visually unique.
