The Rundown: The Cowboy finds his first mission a difficult one when he finally catches up to Joan.

The Cowboy finds himself sitting alone in a cafeteria when a young woman approaches to talk to him about her time with Joan revealing that all of her resurrections have been monitored by others. As the Cowboy awaits his first mission, he continues to think about his history with Joan and what he must do.

At the same time, Joan finds herself in the 60’s as a college student protesting the war who falls in love with a young man committed to the cause. When Joan begins to question her existence, the Cowboy moves in to kill Joan but finds himself hesitating in his mission.

The Story: Another thrilling adventure from King that continues to evolve and show new facets of the characters and their world. I continue to be entranced by the mystery of this series and the character of Joan as well and this issue does a fantastic job of focusing on the cowboy and his emotional journey. I am invested in this world and cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Charretier delivers beautifully detailed and brilliantly engaging art throughout the issue. A wonderfully complex and visually exciting experience.
