According to reports, Quentin Tarantino will be reuniting with Leonardo Di Caprio for the director’s upcoming Manson film.
The untitled film will take place in the tumultuous time surrounding the Tate/LaBianca murders that haunted California in the late 60’s. Sony will be distributing the film which is circling some huge names for its cast. Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) is reported to be in negotiations to star as Sharon Tate in the film. Tom Cruise is also said to be being considered for the film along with Al Pacino.
According to Variety, DiCaprio is said to be playing an aging, out of work actor in the film. This would mean that he’s not playing the role of Manson himself, but could be playing a member of the notorious Manson family. According to the director, the film is not a biopic about Manson, but an ensemble film set during that time period. This will be Tarantino’s first film released without the Weinstein Company and DiCaprio’s first film since winning the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2016 for The Revenant.
