The Rundown: The heroes track down the source of the multiverse attack, but can they stop its architect?

Superman, Wonder Woman and their new band of allies have made their way to the source of the multiverse damage and find a scene of destruction with the Justice League unconscious and floating in space. After retrieving their friends, they determine that they are alive and when they awaken, Jon Stewart tells the heroes what they encountered when they arrived. He also reveals that Amazo was compelled by someone to do what it did and that entity has a plan of its own. A plan that includes releasing Overman to attack the group.

The League and the collected heroes discover that the entity that they are looking for has a connection to Amazo. A connection that is not only infinitely more powerful than they imagined, but has also been waiting for the other heroes to arrive. After learning its story and its connection to both pain and destruction, the heroes go on the offensive and are met with tragedy. It will take J’onn to realize that something is wrong, but it might already be too late.

The Story: DeMatteis and Tucker deliver an exciting and entertaining story in this issue. The story does a great job of giving more backstory and it doesn’t take away from either the main plot or the action. I liked the twists in the story a lot and there are some fun character moments mixed in with the drama. The issue ends with a great cliffhanger that makes me interested in seeing what happens next.

The Art: Beavers does great work with the visuals in the issue. I continue to love the animated series visual aesthetic and Beavers really captures the characters and action of the series.
