The Rundown: A group of seniors find themselves in a battle for the future.

Caregiver Lucy is worried that the seniors that she brought for a day trip to Hidden Springs have gotten lost in the woods and she decides to go after them. Unfortunately, they have been lost and things get a lot more complicated when an object rockets from the sky and crashes in the woods near them.

As the seniors rush off to investigate, they discover that a giant creature has emerged from the ground. One that has psychic powers and connects with one of them. It begins to communicate its need for help before showing them what will happen if the government forces on route to find it manage to capture and use it for their own purposes.

The Story: Williams crafts a fun, interesting story in this first issue. I really like the premise and the characters are fun and engaging. There are some great personalities within this group and the story takes a turn I was not expecting, but eagerly welcome. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens in the next issue.

The Art: Vendrell crafts some great looking art throughout the issue. I really like the character designs a lot and the environments are lush and beautifully detailed.
