Critics and fans alike were impressed with Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn in the 2016 blockbuster Suicide Squad. The film earned over $740 million in its theatrical run and a sequel and spin-off films have been discussed. Robbie is starring, as well as producing in the spin-off featuring her character Harley Quinn, a former psychiatrist turned supervillain obsessed with the homicidal Joker.
While no synopsis or release date has been given, it has been reported by Collider and Deadline that the film has found a writer. Christina Hodson has been tapped to write the script, which is tentatively titled ‘Bird of Prey’. The movie is set to introduce additional female villains and heroes to the DC cinematic universe. Hodson’s current credits include the upcoming thriller Shut-In, Transformers 6 and its spin-off film about the character Bumblebee.
