The Rundown: Elvira finds herself in a nightmarish dreamland being hunted by Lovecraft.
Trapped in a nightmare dreamland after being pulled into a portal, Elvira retains the Necronomicon while being surrounded by the dark denizens of the area. After being rescued by some unusual creatures, the Mistress of the Dark discovers that there is someone there that could help her.
After finding an ally with a connection to Lovecraft, Elvira finds herself on a mission to visit the court of the gods. Unfortunately, she’s not alone as a servant of the old gods and Lovecraft himself are hot on her heels and have their own plans for the book. Plans that will bring the three of them to the dark presence of a dangerous entity for judgment.
The Story: A consistently fun and funny adventure from Avallone. The story continues to craft some great moments for Elvira along with awesome dialogue and humor that kept me laughing throughout. The story has some wonderful moments including an unexpected cameo that made me smile as a genre fan, especially a fan of great writers.
The Art: Baal delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals capture the fun and thrilling adventure the character is going through and crafts some wonderfully compelling imagery.
