The Rundown: Jolene and her team are arrested by Eve and B34.
Paul reflects on his current situation and emphasizing the time that has passed in this series. Then, a teammates betrayal leads to an interesting revelation. Soon, they found themselves surrounded by their enemies. Then, Eve appears via hologram and makes a shocking proposal. This forces Paul to make a decision for the group. Later, Eve reconnects with an injured Nathalie and has a confrontation with Jolene. Afterwards, the group is split up. Paul, Nathalie, and their alien companion remain with Eve, while the rest are sent away. Jolene and her crew soon find themselves in a deadly situation and must determine their best survival method. Meanwhile, on the colony, Paul is given an unexpected opportunity.
The Story: This is an interesting chapter that is filled with lots of action. It was nice to finally see all of the major characters together. I found Eve’s treatment of Paul the most unusual, and I am curious to see what comes of it. I am also interested in the outcome of Jolene, Lucas, and Mari. Their ending predicament, although daunting, feels very promising in terms of world building. I’m looking forward to finding out how this plotline will progress.
The Art: The illustrations in this chapter are extremely detailed and the underwater scenes are brilliantly done. The color work changes depending on mood and location. However, it has an overall watercolor effect that permeates throughout each page. The action scenes are very well done and engaging. Overall, I found myself completed transported by them.
