The Rundown: Constantine and his team discover what is affecting the Green and the cure to the infection will require help from an unexpected source.
With many of their teammates dead at their feet, Constantine and his crew are trapped beneath a swirling sea of anti-life that used to be Plastic Man. Zatanna will have to take action if they are to survive and when they do, they discover a group of survivors willing to do whatever they have to end the threat of the zombie army at their gates.
When Swamp Thing discovers the extent of their plan, he flies into a rage and attacks. The team will find out quickly what weapon these survivors are about to unleash and the cure for the anti-life infection will require enlisting a familiar face.
The Story: Tom Taylor infuses this story with a lot of interesting and unexpected surprises. There are clever moments throughout and a plot that is engaging to the reader. I was surprised by how this issue unfolds and the moment the team discovers what is both attacking the Green and who is behind it is well done. The rest of the story unfolds in some great ways with character moments that are unexpected and welcome, especially the moment between Damian and James Gordon. I continue to be impressed with this series and can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Trevor Hairsine delivers some beautiful visuals throughout this issue. From the fight against Plastic Man to the final reveals, Hairsine really knows how to move a story visually and surprise the reader.
