The Rundown: A reporter down on her luck will find herself involved in a growing mystery.

Jean is a reporter who is having a hard time getting work after a personal scandal that affected her credibility. With nothing left to lose, she decides to take a trip to a small town to cover its 450th anniversary. A town that seems to have some secrets that need to be uncovered.

At the same time, Rebecca and her teenage daughter Cheyenne move to the same town in order to have a fresh start. While Cheyenne deals with the problems with being the new kid, her mother’s new diner will get an unwanted visitor who will have a violent and unexpected end.

The Story: An entertaining and engaging first issue. The story has a nice slow burn that gets the reader involved in the lives of the characters while teasing some supernatural and interesting back stories for them. I liked seeing the story unfold in an interesting way and everything comes together to a great cliffhanger ending that left me with more questions than answers and a desire to see what happens next.

The Art: Ramsay delivers some devastatingly beautiful art throughout this issue. The visuals are fantastic and I found myself immersed in the world of these characters.
