The Rundown: Carol and the others find Binary, but freeing her will come at a cost.

Gambit’s team is reeling from Hazmat having to use her powers to stop the Brood attacking them. IN the aftermath, they are able to free Rogue and help Laura. At the same time, Carol’s team manages to find a way to free Binary, but in order to give them time to check on her, Carol will have to enter the machine.

While one team takes the wounded and recovering back to the ship, the other tries to fight off the Brood that are converging on their location. A fight that Carol will be able to help with as she notices something feels wrong. Something she can’t fully understand.

The Story: A dark, exciting and action packed story from Thompson. The tension continues to heat up for Carol and the others and I love the ominous tone of the story. The action is great and I love the character interactions. There is a great sense of darkness at play in the story and I loved seeing how that sense came to fruition with the reveal at the end of the issue. It makes me excited for what’s to come.

The Art: Avila crafts some great art in the issue. The characters look great and the environments do a great job of capturing the mood and tone of the story.
