The Rundown: Phae makes a final stand against the people who are controlling her world.

After discovering what the royal family is doing with the innocent creatures of the city, Phae and Pax see what is really powering the city they call home. Determined to put an end to it once and for all, they find themselves in the powerful magical clutches of the queen.

After finally discovering the truth behind Freyal’s murder and the person behind it, Phae and Pax find themselves being rescued by their backup before a firefight ensues that will determine the future of the city.

The Story: Thompson brings this arc to an explosive and satisfying conclusion that leaves the characters and their world in a state of flux that makes me excited to come back to this story. I love the tension throughout the story and the reveals do a brilliant job of enhancing the mystery and the character arcs throughout it. I love where the ending leaves the characters and the desperate circumstances some of them will have to deal with.

The Art: McClaren delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The action is visually stunning and the magic of the story gives brilliant life visually.
