The Rundown: Bruce makes a plae for Sofia to decide who and what she wants to be while the rest of the team decides their futures.

In the wake of the battle against Ras Al Ghul, Bruce has decided to purchase a small farm for Sofia to give her the opportunity to rest and decide what she wants to do with her life and with her power. At the same time, the rest of the Outsiders must decide what they want to do with their lives now that they are no longer a team.

Jefferson contemplates his future as a hero while Tatsu offers him a new journey to take. Duke talks to Shiva about his fears and the new powers he has while Bruce has a moment with Cassandra. With Shiva directing events in her own way, she will confront the young heroes about their futures and Bruce will be left with some hard realities to face.

The Story: Bryan Hill gives the heroes some quiet time to regroup and re-focus on who they are and what they want. The story is introspective and does a great job of focusing on the characters, their inner conflicts and the possibility of deeper connection. I liked the subtle shift in the power dynamics as Bruce’s influence is taken over by Shiva. It’s handled brilliantly and with an eye towards challenging the characters, which is great. I especially enjoyed the ending and how it plays out with Bruce and Shiva being the only two characters left.

The Art: There is a quiet serenity to the story and Marcio Takara’s art perfectly matches that tone. There are some great close ups as the characters take the time to talk to each other, especially Shiva.
