The Rundown: Batman joins Damian in his undercover mission and discovers more about his son in the process.

Damian’s undercover mission at his high school takes a surprising turn when his father arrives to volunteer. As Damian continues his investigation into his new principal and whether or not she is Shush, Bruce begins to learn more about his son from the teachers who see him every day.

That night, the duo go on patrol and Bruce tries to connect with Damian as they find nothing suspicious about their target. Unfortunately, their next target has a connection to someone extremely dangerous.

The Story: Williamson crafts an entertaining and interesting story in this issue. What makes it entertaining is the lighter tone of the story and the moments of Bruce showing a softer side with the staff at the school as well as having an unguarded sense of pride in Damian. The interesting moments come from Bruce learning more about his son from the perspective of others. I like seeing these characters learn beyond their mission and the final twist at the end of the issue is an interesting one.

The Art: Nikola Cizmesija’s art works perfectly both with the action moments and the character moments. It beautifully captures the mood and tone of the story.
