The Rundown: Batman prepares for a daring plan that will require the death of Bruce Wayne.

Bruce meets with Superman and Wonder Woman to lay out a plan that could potentially cause some tension. A plan that he and Damian bring Gordon in on as well as another ally who will be key to pulling it off. After announcing that Bruce Wayne will be leaving Gotham for a year, Bruce decides to throw a lavish party for the city before he departs.

With multiple assassins still hunting Bruce, Batman and his allies devise a way to draw them all out in hopes that they take their shot at killing him. After taking down one threat, the team prepares for the next part of the plan. A plan that will see the very public assassination of Bruce Wayne.

The Story: Fraction crafts a bold, thrilling story in this issue. The story is filled with rising tension and I love every moment of the planning as it showcases Batman as the detective and strategist that I know he is. There are great moments with the characters throughout the story and the buildup of events has a fantastic payoff. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Jimenez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. There is a rough edge to the art style that I enjoyed, but there is one visual moment that didn’t work regarding the design of Diana at the beginning of the issue. Her facial structure seemed off proportionally to the rest of her body.
