The Rundown: A wizard stripped of power leads an unlikely group in search of a dragon.

The most powerful wizard in the world finds his power stripped from him by the dragon god Bahamut. Desperate to regain his power, Mordenkainen seeks information from the storyteller and writer known as Volotham Geddarm who offers to help him on his quest in order to escape from some personal issues that threaten him.

The pair barely escape a deadly encounter as they are brought to another realm where Mordenkainen seeks help from an old friend now archfey Tasha who decides to help him by sending an aspect of herself along with the pair. As they hunt for a new and dangerous dragon, they find someone already hunting it and Mordenkainen’s quest for his lost powers might end before they even begin.

The Story: Kelly and Lanzing craft a new and entertaining world populated by some interesting and engaging characters for both those familiar with them and those new to the world of Dungeons & Dragons. There’s great action and lore throughout the story as it creates some great moments for the characters and draws in the reader with the world of this story. The writers have already begun using the tools in their new toolbox for this adventure and I look forward to seeing what they do with them.

The Art: Roberson creates great art throughout the story and I love both the character designs and how beautiful the world of the story looks.
