After writer/director Joss Whedon left the DC Comics adaptation Batgirl, many speculated about the future of the superhero project.

Well it looks like the project is moving forward and Warner Brothers has hired a new writer for the adaptation. According to a story in The Hollywood Reporter, writer Christina Hodson to write the screenplay for Batgirl.

Christina Hodson has already written the Warner Brothers thriller Unforgettable starring Rosario Dawson and has written the screenplay for the Transformers spinoff movie Bumblebee. She is also writing the YA potential franchise film Ology for Universal. This also isn’t the first time Hodson has been involved with Batgirl as well. She previously helped develop the feature film version of the DC Comics series Birds of Prey.

I will continue to follow this story for any new developments. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
