The Rundown: Regan’s captor has a plan for her friends, but she’s not the only one planning.

Hannah and Regan find themselves traveling back towards the town and Hannah wants to know what the woman remembers about the day she and her friends came down from the mountain and killed everyone in sight. Regan doesn’t answer truthfully which is what Hannah expected and the two continue with Hannah’s plan to kill the others for destroying her life.

Near the town itself, Jimmy and Cara decide to go have something to eat, but Cara is worried that they’ll be recognized. After receiving information from their servant Barret, Jimmy decides to unleash his power on the other diners when they are recognized. At the same time, the remaining two know that Regan is close and they have plans for their wayward member.

The Story: The second issue does a great job of continuing to build Bunn’s world without revealing too much and keeping the mystery right at arm’s length. There is a dark tone to this story and that darkness permeates through the characters, their dialogue and the motivations of the characters. This is a dark and haunting story and you get the sense of its dark tone on every page, but that darkness is engaging and keeps you invested in this world and its characters right up until the tragic circumstances of the final page.

The Art: Scharf crafts some beautifully dark imagery to match the darkness of the story. The visuals are jarring and highly detailed which adds to the horror of the moment. A great looking issue from start to finish.
