American Gods is getting ready for its second season on STARZ and there is news that some new faces are joining the series.

Dean Winters will take on the role of Mr. Town. Using his brutal efficiency and technique, Town has been tasked with finding out what Shadow (Ricky Whittle) knows about Mr. Wednesday’s (Ian Mchane) plan. Winters is known for his roles in series like Rescue Me30 Rock and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Devery Jacobs will take on the role of Sam Black Crow. The character will recur as a college student who believes in many things, but is spiritually cynical. She lives an open existence filled with confidence as she sells her art on the roadside for money. Jacobs is known for her role in the 2013 film Rhymes for Young Ghouls.

Kahyun Kim joins this season as New Media. She is the successor to Gillian Anderson’s media goddess character in season 1. New Media is a goddess of global content, a cyberspace chameleon who is a master of manipulation. Kim has had recurring roles in Austin & Ally and The Mysteries of Laura and can next be seen in a reboot of Freaky Friday.

Jesse Alexander joins American Gods season 2 as executive producer and showrunner replacing Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. He will executive produce alongside American Gods creator Neil Gaiman and Ian McShane.

The eight episode second season of American Gods is expected to return to STARZ in 2019.
