The Rundown: Jessica Drew takes on a new case as a familiar face returns to the city.

Jessica Drew has been hired by Ben Urich to investigate a series of murders in the city linked to a former vigilante known as the Hangman. After discovering that the Hangman has been targeting mobsters, she decides to pay a visit to the only one not targeted, Tombstone. After taking out several of his men, she learns something about the killings.
As Jessica continues her investigation, she continues to struggle with being bonded to Carnage as she fights against its violent tendencies. After finding the motive behind the murders, Spider-Woman prepares for the next part of her plan while the killer initiates a massacre and a familiar face returns to town looking for something he lost.
The Story: Watters creates an entertaining and interesting story in this first issue. Not only is there great action throughout the story, but the story has an awesome mystery at the heart of this arc as well as great drama with Jessica dealing with the Carnage symbiote. I love the dark, detective noir style of the story a lot and look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Broccardo creates some great visual moments throughout the issue, but I wish the darker tones and shadows of the hospital massacre translated to Jessica in costume because she feels too bright in contrast to the environment and tone of the story.
