The Rundown: Diana overcomes fear to face her enemies and one of her friends.

Diana returns to her base to create a formula that will allow her to overcome her fear of the gods tormenting her. Unfortunately, she doesn’t realize that Barbara and her new Cheetah patron have consumed the gods and are awaiting Diana’s arrival.

Steve takes the potion himself and it gives him the courage to pray to Hecate and become her new emissary while Diana hunts down Barbara who is more powerful than she realized. As the two battle, Barbara tells Diana that she wants her to become a part of what she is becoming, but not at her side. An act that will require an unexpected intervention.

The Story: Thompson crafts a thrilling, entertaining and engaging story in this issue. The story has some beautifully compelling layers for Diana and her relationship with her team, especially Barbara. The story takes some dramatic and unexpected turns, especially the moments with Steve, and it looks like Thompson is gearing up for something epic for both Diana and Barbara. Something I am hotly anticipating as I wait to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Sherman delivers stunning imagery throughout the issue and I absolutely love the composition and details in the battle between Barbara and Diana.
