The Rundown: Bruce faces a dark reality and gains a new ally.

Grimm has a meeting with Scarecrow before deciding to finally leave Gotham. At the same time, Barbara is still dealing with the death of her father and reaches out to Batman for help. He finally responds and tell her where she needs to go before he finds a quiet place that is familiar to him and collapses only to be discovered by his mother who tells him some dark truth about her past and the things she has done to protect him.

Meanwhile, the authorities and the Robins are going harder on their hunt for Batman and even his friends are starting to believe that stopping him might be their only option. Alfred meets with his leaders and gives them some information about Batman while the man himself has a final confrontation with Scarecrow and Barbara takes on a new mantle.

The Story: Snyder continues to craft a thrilling, intense and entertaining story in this issue. There are so many great moments throughout the story as each of the characters has a moment of truth and revelation. I like seeing each of these characters have a turning point and all of those turning points lead to more interesting drama to come for the characters both in their fights and within their interpersonal conflicts. I continue to be excited about where this story goes and what twists and turns it will take me on as a reader.

The Art: Dragotta offers some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. Every visual moment for the characters is earned and beautifully detailed.
