The Rundown: The investigation heats up as Jindari and Dessin go the something that might have answers.

Jindari discovers that the victim in the murder he’s been brought on to investigate is himself and Dessin is concerned. After returning to the crime scene, Jindari discovers that a data drive is missing while Dessin finds a security camera. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell what data went missing and the camera has been erased. The only way to see what happened is to pay a visit to the monks who tend the Algo.

Their visit comes at a cost when the Algo sends them to bring in a dangerous criminal in the worst part of the city. After a long battle, the pair return and are taken to see the footage which not only reveals the murder of Jindari’s double, but who killed him.

The Story: Guggenheim creates a tense, engaging and thoughtful mystery in this issue and it serves as a great follow up to the first by not only showcasing the conflicts within the characters, but also expanding the world they inhabit before hitting the reader with a twist that I wasn’t expecting. The first issue had me engaged in the world of this story, but the second had me invested in the characters and their conflicts.

The Art: Oezgen’s art is breathtaking. I love the visual style and the beautiful details across the pages and panels.
