The Rundown: Marcus discovers he might be the target of a serial killer.

Marcus loves going to a local park and trolling conspiracy theorists online about his theories regarding local serial killers. He also has a heart condition that causes him to pass out when his heart rate gets too high.

After an episode, he meets with his friends at a local diner where the waitress he’s in love with invites him to dinner. As she happens to be his neighbor, his nerves cause another blackout until one night she comes out of her apartment screaming and the blood all over his door and his ability to escape causes him to black out again not knowing if she is safe or if he might be next.

The Story: Wagner creates an entertaining and delightfully weird story in this first issue. I can usually tell if I’m going to like a premise in the first issue of a story and this one definitely got my attention for many reasons including the serial killer angle, the characters and the buildup of suspense that leads to a compelling cliffhanger that makes me interested in seeing what happens next.

The Art: Hillyard crafts some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. I really love the art style and how it frames both the characters and the world of the story.
