The Rundown: Strange is sent to settle a dispute involving an ancient wizard.

In the wake of Thor’s death, Strange continues to look for a way to return to Midgard. Unfortunately, his attempts continue to fail and he is summoned by Sif who needs him to travel to the elven world of Alfhelm to deal with a dispute between its royal family and the regent of Heven.

Strange meets with Angela and discovers that the regent wants to finish the job she started and kill the wizard once and for all, but his connection to the royal family makes that difficult. Their disputes become moot when Strange’s examination of the wizard’s coffin reveals that not only is he awake and alive, but is ready to complete a plan he put into place eons ago.

The Story: Landy creates an entertaining story for Strange in this issue. I love the interpersonal conflict in the story and how Strange is dealing with his circumstances. There is some great drama throughout the story and I liked the buildup of drama throughout the issue. The villain in the issue is interesting as well and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Art: Fiorelli creates some great art in the issue. I like the visual style and its depiction of the power and magic used by the characters.
