The Rundown: Marian continues to question her mission as she looks for answers from Ravenna.
Marian and the other members of her order spend the night dreaming of damnation and punishment in Hell before Marian awakens outside and joins her sister. As they recount what they experienced, Marian assures them that they will be safe.
She suits up and heads to the church for a new mission. One that will require her to track down two women suspected of being witches. After finding, confronting and verifying they are, Marian decides not to kill them but ask them questions about Ravenna. An act that will lead to a violent confrontation with the Crusaders and an audience with Ravenna herself.
The Story: Howard delivers a thrilling, intense and engaging story in this issue. I continue to fall in love with the complicated world of this series and its compelling characters. The action is fantastic and I love Marian’s journey as well as her doubts about her mission. I love seeing her question things and the end of the issue has a fantastic cliffhanger that has me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Jaro’s art is beautifully detailed and visually exciting both in the character designs and the action.
