The Rundown: Young Justice returns, but Connor’s business with Dr. Glory and STAR Labs is unfinished.

Naomi is discussing her powers with Dr. Glory when a dimensional disturbance puts her and her powers on alert. When Young Justice emerges, they all want to know if they’ve finally made it home. When Naomi passes out, she wakes up to find the team crashing at her parents house.

When she begins talking about what just happened, Connor realizes that STAR Labs was involved and goes on the hunt for Dr. Glory for sending him to Gemworld in the first place. It doesn’t take long to find her and when he discovers another portal, Glory takes the opportunity to send him off to another world just as the rest of the team arrives.

The Story: Starting up all this interdimensional travel stuff again makes me seriously question whether anyone, especially Bendis knows what to do with Connor Kent at all. There is a lot I like about this series and this issue, but the abrupt removal of Connor again was both unnecessary and frankly, annoying. I like a lot of the character moments in this issue. From Tim texting Stephanie to let her know they were back to the natural inclusion of Naomi into the mix, Bendis is setting up this team for some interesting and entertaining stories. I just wanted to see more of their transition back into the world before they were thrust into another dimension hopping adventure.

The Art: John Timms art is fantastic. I love the manga inspired style of the characters and the over the top action. I love all the visuals in this issue with my favorite part being the sequence of Naomi waking up after passing out and finding Young Justice asleep in her house. A fun sequence beautifully drawn.
