The Rundown: Wynd’s foray into a wider world will require him to make some interesting choices.
Wynd and company find themselves on the run from the Bandanged Man and the prince is becoming more trouble than he’s worth. With death stalking their every move, the company must keep moving through the sewers of Pipetown to get to their contact in the South. Unfortunately, the Bandaged Man is catching up to them and they will have to try something unexpected if they have any chance of escaping.
After emerging in the woods, they discover their contact has come to them. With it being too dangerous to keep moving, they camp for the night and Wynd learns more about the world outside of his walled town. A world that is both wondrous and dangerous for everyone, including weirdblood.
The Story: James Tynion IV keeps the story moving forward and the characters interesting. The plot is solid and there are some fun character moments throughout. Lady Gwendolyn is a great character and has an engaging take on the the world of these characters. I also really enjoyed the character growth in Wynd as well.
The Art: Michael Dialynas has some really fun and interesting art in this issue. There are some dynamic visual moments throughout and the scale of the world is beautiful.
