Diana is alone and has never felt so alone since she left Themyscira. Steve has left and everything she knows is falling apart, including her will to fight. It’s going to take the intervention of Veronica Cale and a recent discovery about the godkiller sword to push Diana back into the fight. With a possible new weapon in hand, Wonder Woman goes on the hunt for Cheetah.

The villain proves relatively easy to find as she cuts a path of destruction throughout the city searching for a way to Themyscira. When Diana finally confronts her and fights back, she will discover that a betrayal will make this fight harder than she ever thought.

The Story: I really enjoy how this story continues to progress. There are some great moments throughout and the best parts of the issue are the ones that have Diana dealing with and overcoming the loss of love that she feels in the world. Wilson shows Wonder Woman as being a hero that transcends her circumstances and rises to the occasion, despite the risks. This issue helps to reinforce everything that is memorable and worthwhile about the character and I love how the ending is unpredictable and ominous.

The Art: Merino and Derenick make all of the characters look amazing in this issue. The detailed backgrounds and the shadowy menace of Cheetah in some panels give the story great visual depth.
